It usually means you’ve been coping, pushing through and putting yourself last for a long time, without much space to pause or check in with what you need.
At some point, that way of coping starts to feel heavier than helpful.
What’s often happening underneath

You’re meeting expectations.
But underneath, it can feel like:
- You’re constantly “on”, even when you’re exhausted
- Slowing down feels uncomfortable, or brings up guilt
- You second-guess yourself more than you used to

Over time, this can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and unsure what you actually want, even though you’re still functioning and showing up.
